Bajaj Finance Acquires 5% Stake in TrueFan AI Under Its Finserv Intelligence Initiative

Bajaj Finance Ltd., part of Bajaj Finserv and India's largest private sector NBFC, has acquired a 5% stake in TrueFan AI, an AI-powered video generation platform operated by Hogwarts E-learning Universe Private Limited, as part of Finserv Intelligence, Bajaj Finserv's group-wide strategic initiative in applied research and innovation.

Here's what makes this deal interesting, it isn't a cold investment. Bajaj Finance has already been using TrueFan's platform at scale, generating millions of personalised videos for customer engagement and dealer enablement. This stake acquisition essentially formalises a relationship that started as a customer-vendor partnership, with Bajaj Finance choosing to back the technology it had already proven out internally.

TrueFan AI itself is solving a genuinely interesting problem. Founded in 2020 by Devender Bindal, Nimish Goel and Nevaid Aggarwal, the Gurugram-based startup uses deep-learning models to synthesise facial dynamics, gestures and voice, letting businesses turn a single recording into up to 500,000 localised, studio-quality videos per minute across more than 175 languages, without needing to reshoot content for every market or audience segment. Its client roster already includes names like HDFC Bank and Zomato.

The bigger picture here is Bajaj Finance's broader AI ambitions. This investment sits under Finserv Intelligence, which will let Bajaj Finance back early-stage startups, from seed to Series B, across AI, cybersecurity, quantum technologies, fintech and consumer technology. Rajeev Jain, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finance, described the company as a "FINAI" business deploying AI at scale, and said this investment reflects direct, first-hand conviction built through production use, not just financial due diligence.

The timing matters too. TrueFan AI had raised $10 million in a Series A round just three months earlier, in June 2026, led by Baring Private Equity Partners India and Z3 Partners, and reported FY25 revenue of Rs 17.1 crore, up 131% year-on-year. The two companies now plan to expand their partnership into personalised marketing, in-app live avatar assistance, multilingual communication, learning and development, and digital onboarding.

From vendor to equity partner, Bajaj Finance's move into TrueFan AI shows how India's large financial institutions are increasingly choosing to own a piece of the AI infrastructure they depend on.
