AI Experience-Tech Startup Alive App Raises $1 Million from Powerhouse Ventures and Flipkart Ventures
Bengaluru-based Alive App, an AI-powered experience-tech platform, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Powerhouse Ventures, with participation from Flipkart Ventures. This is a follow-on round for the startup, which had previously raised Rs 6 crore in a pre-seed round led by Powerhouse Ventures last year.
Here's what Alive App is actually building. It operates as a curated leisure and experience-discovery platform, using AI to help people find and book local experiences, everything from workshops and events to unique activities happening in their own city. The company currently operates across six cities in India, offering more than 500 experiences from over 400 creators, with local, city-based experiences making up more than 90% of total bookings.
The traction behind this raise is genuinely solid. Alive App recently recorded its first profitable quarter in Bengaluru, its home and largest market, and continues to add roughly 100 new experiences to its platform every month, a pace that signals real supply-side momentum alongside demand.
The fresh capital has a clear purpose. Founder Vivek Kumar's team is using this round to fuel aggressive growth, with a target of tripling revenue while expanding its curated experience offerings across more major Indian cities beyond its current six-city footprint.
The bigger picture is what makes this interesting. India's experience economy, spanning workshops, hobby classes, local events and offbeat activities, has remained a largely fragmented, word-of-mouth-driven space. Alive App is betting that AI-powered curation and discovery can organise this chaos into a real, scalable platform, and its early profitability in Bengaluru suggests the model may already be working.
From curated weekend plans to a genuine AI-led experience marketplace, Alive App's seed round is a signal that India's experience economy is finally attracting serious institutional capital.
