À propos Samaria's Garden
I'm Samaria-- a garden designer, farmer, homeschool mama and the founder of Samaria's Garden in Richmond, VA.
Every day, my son and I are out on our quarter-acre farm in Henrico County learning how to grow food, tend the land and carry forward the knowledge our ancestors held. I homeschool in a way where it's really life school, built around hands-on farm work, real cooking, cultural plant traditions, and the kind of learning that happens when you're watching seeds become food and food become medicine.
We grow cut flowers, okra, peppers, tomatoes, watermelon, hibiscus, luffa and heritage varieties rooted in African, Caribbean and Southern foodways. This will be our first year participating in an amazing local homeschool co-op centered on cultural identity and community. And, we're preparing for our first farmers market debut this fall.
Your support helps cover:
* seeds, amendments and growing supplies
* homeschool curriculum, co-op fees, and field experiences
* farm tools and infrastructure
* workshops that bring our community to the land
If what we're building resonates with you-- the idea that a child learning to farm is learning to be free-- I'd be honored by your support.
Thank you for being a part of this.
