Podcasting for vagabond saints
The Saint K9® Podcast is a dog of a different colour.
The name is Benaiah. I'll be your pilot on this spiritual voyage for as long as you will have me on board. Of course, it's your life. It's your ship. But even the best sailors can use some assistance when seas gets rough.
As an author, teacher, and theologian I ended up podcasting because life nearly shipwrecked me. This was untimely, came sudden, and was rather brutal too. However, the bright side of life's school-of-hard-knocks is that it strips you of all textbook theology. It's why I, too, now only trust preachers walking with a limb.
Since I weathered my fair share of storms, I find myself thinking often: 'Yeah, I’ve been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt.' But like you, I wasn’t always who and where I was supposed to be. Sometimes I didn’t do what I should’ve done either.
Nevertheless, through all hardship, failures and fog of war, I did learn some ‘lifecraft’ on my voyage with Christ. And I figured you could use some help as well, staying the course. For as we navigate through these latter days before the return of the King, it is crucial to hold fast to the Anchor that goes beyond the veil. Looking at the Author and Finisher of our faith so we reach the Heavenly shores safely.
Still, it is not time to cower in fear because of what comes upon the earth. Even though we live in a time when our believing, gathering, and sharing of the Word of God is increasingly coming under pressure. As long as we draw breath in this faithless, wicked world, marked by reprobate minds, we are still commissioned to bring faith, hope and love through the liberating message of the cross.
No matter how worn out, overwhelmed, soul-weary, stretched or challenged we become, we were chosen to live in a time such as this. We are purposely positioned in time, on time, having been given a set lifetime to let Christ be formed in us.
So expect this podcast to stir you, build you up in the faith, and habitually go beyond the shallow end of the pool, while likely barbecuing some sacred cows on the way.
Hold on to hope and stay the course in faith!
