What is a Yeoman Chart Plotter and how does it work? Bit of a vintage tool. In ships and boats, it was a device used to transfer GPS coordinates and radar echo locations onto paper navigation charts and to read those coordinates. A vintage tool manufactured from 1985 to 2014/2015, this was an intermediary step between paper chart navigation and fully electronic chart displays. Paper charts were easy to understand for people used to paper charts, and they were cheaper than electronic displays at the time.
