This month, I have 4 articles out in international publications. One pays £120, another £100, one was £250 and the biggest of all around £800…but I’ve been working on that one since February. And that’s payment at least a month post publication.

It’s becoming increasingly impossible to work as a journalist in the U.K, especially in such a controversial niche as cannabis and psychedelics. Not only is the competition higher than ever, with thousands of layoffs from magazines and papers this year and slashed budgets, but it pays so low and so sporadically that I literally had to forage for mine and my son’s lunch the other day. We had £6 to last us the week until people kindly donated to me.

It’s not your job to pay me, it’s the billionaires who own our media. But I’ve had a few people asking how they can ‘tip’ me! If you fancy ‘buying me a coffee’ to support me and my work, I will be forever grateful!
