I have a lot to say about things happening in our world at present moment. There is a LOT OF TALK about how generations do not agree, but, I am one of those people who feel like if we combined forces with the youngsters, knowing that, as GenX, we are now the elders, and we are the ones who OUGHT TO BE HELPING THEM rather than doing as a lot of our own parents have done, which is bring on more pain. There are VERY FEW OF THE BOOMER GEN WHO GIVES AF ABOUT MORE THAN THEIR BOTTOM LINE (no, Uncle Bill....I am SO NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU!!! YOU ARE THE STANDARD...you are the one who gave me hope in a hopeless world, seriously...)
We ought to be JOINING WITH OUR KIDS RIGHT NOW, rather than disparaging them as though they do not have the right to be angry about their lot in life. As the eldest daughter and older sister to a millenial, my kid sister Napua and my eldest boy Jeremy, and also to two GenZers, Gracie who is a bad ass hair stylist and the baby, my Joshua, who is barely cutting his salesman teeth, carrying on the tradition from his Great Uncle Bill's side of the family, I am really very sick and tired of this generational divide, am sick AF of people from MY GENERATION ACTING AS THOUGH BULLYING THE YOUNGSTERS AND EACH OTHER OVER FUCKING STUPID SHIT (politics anyone?) I feel like we do not need to carry on this malicious crap that has been the shadow over my generation, the one marked X, and that has been the thing that has fed egos, bank accounts, and lots of other stuff, throughout the course of my life.
I am tired, exhausted even, at the very thought that we are trying hard to do things the way that our parents did. I am not for making these kids go through what we had to, even as our administration in DC seems to think of ALL OF OUR LIVES as something to fuck with.
I cannot be the only one who is sick and tired AF of things as they are. Pluto changed signs from Capricorn to Aquarius, and Aquarius is the sign of WE, THE PEOPLE, and it is going to be a hard time comin' for a LOT OF FOLKS, but, and I say this with the knowledge coming from YEARS AND YEARS OF SURVIVING, and as many reading astrological charts and seeing the pattern long and prior to what the rest of the non-astrological world sees.
We really need to STOP THIS BULLSHIT, and help these youngsters MAKE A LIFE, and we also need to leave them better than we have ever been.
NONE OF THIS HAS TO DO WITH POLITICS, and everything to do with the choices we make.
I am choosing, have been choosing, to band with my own kids, their friends, to make this place a better world.
