About Roshan Kumar Gupta
building Earthos and Project TARS
Hey! I’m Roshan—a 19-year-old CS student, systems & ML developer, and relentless builder.
Right now, I’m navigating the beautiful chaos of college life and tight budgets, all while chasing some massive technical frontiers. Before my first semester even ended, I won two global hackathons (including taking first place at ZeroToOne with my DeFi project, Cryptic) and landed my first IT internship at SMG Electric. I don't just build basic apps; I love diving straight into low-level systems architecture, physics-constrained machine learning, and deep quantum research.
🛠️ What I’ve Built & What I'm Working On
FieldChain: A wire-speed primitive for energy-efficient storage integrity. By completely offloading cryptographic verification to the GPU, the system hits a sustained throughput of 130.56 GiB/s. This research was just accepted at the CCNPCS conference at the University of Dubai, and I was awarded a travel grant to present it internationally!
Project TARS: A physics-constrained machine learning pipeline built to parse massive astronomical datasets and validate exoplanet signals. This project achieved a 70.1% precision rate and secured a $5,500 research grant from Emergent Ventures! That funding was an absolute game-changer—it allowed me to scale and execute my other research projects far better than I ever could have otherwise.
Earthos (Ongoing): My current open-source obsession. I am actively developing Synapse, a persistent, neuromorphic cognitive runtime designed for active open-world learning. It moves away from static next-token prediction and focuses heavily on embodied cognition, continuous sensorimotor loops, and reality grounding.
Qunta (Quantum Research): When I’m not writing code, I’m deep in the math. I am currently drafting a scientific paper defining the Entropic Noise Boundary (ENB). The research maps the observability limits of noisy quantum systems , specifically exploring how noise causes an exponential contraction of distinguishable states.
🌍 Why Your Support Matters: Buying Back My Time
Advanced projects require serious infrastructure, but more importantly, they require time. Between classes, hostel life, and the financial realities of being a student, finding the unbroken hours required for deep systems engineering and research is my biggest bottleneck.
I set up this page because I need every bit of help I can get to buy back my time and dedicate it entirely to this research.
Your contributions directly help me:
⏳ Focus completely on research by freeing up hours that would otherwise go to side gigs just to cover expenses.
🚀 Cover heavy computing costs like cloud compute, API credits, and GPU server time for training models.
🔬 Fund independent development by helping me afford the dev tools and hardware required to build complex architectures.
If you love seeing a student push the absolute limits of open-source tech, machine learning, and systems architecture, consider dropping a coffee in the tank. It genuinely keeps the momentum going! ☕❤️
