Hi, I'm Rosa.
Welcome to the colorful back-drop of THE SMART VIEW, the indie magazine for mobile photography. Many of you know me already, some of you don't, so let me introduce myself quickly:
On Instagram and the WWW things always look bigger than they really are. TSV is a female lead magazine and I'm the founder, editor, social media manager, web designer, editorial designer, account manager, e-commerce manager, marketing and PR manager and the pounding heart of the TSV community. I founded the magazine back in 2014 when I was up to do my Bachelor thesis at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. I wanted to make a difference and not just end up in the dusty book shelves of my professors. So I came up with THE SMART VIEW, a magazine and a community that supports emerging photography talents that shoot on their mobile phones.
Usually I'm running this magazine from my small home office in Hamburg, besides taking on freelance jobs for graphic design, social media management and content management/translations or copy writing. Just that now times are a bit different for all of us. The crisis hit hard. I lost my freelance jobs, fairs and art events were broadly cancelled and my sales dropped to zero for months and months. But I try not to give up. That's not who I am, instead I'm seeking for alternative solutions to the problem. My family said, I should go get a "normal" job that gives me a monthly and stable income, but I can't. I does not go along with my entrepreneurial mindset to do a boring office job or work in a bar. I want to be independent and do what I love most, support other people with my skills and create beautiful things that people love.
This crisis really kicked off existential anxieties in my mind. Right now I'm living day by day without knowing if I could afford my next rent pay or other expenses. Sometimes I wake up full of sorrows trying to find a solution that doesn't force me to work something I don't like just because I need the money to sustain my life in this society. I totally goes beyond what I believe and want for myself and that's one of the reasons I created this Buymeacoffee page.
Your coffee helps me going through these tough times until I hope (sooo much) the arts and culture scene awakes from its beauty sleep. Your contribution help me keep up the work on the magazine, to follow my passions and dreams, and foremost to stick to my belief that I'm an Indie full heart on.
