Rocked On Cancer Foundation is a grassroots charitable cause built from lived experience, community support, and the belief that no one should face cancer alone.

Our mission is to create awareness around thyroid cancer while supporting cancer warriors, survivors, caregivers, families, and community efforts connected to people facing difficult medical battles.

Our Story

Rocked On Cancer Foundation was born from Will Rock’s personal cancer battle and his family’s experience facing cancer from two directions at once.

In 2022, Will’s partner, Megan, was diagnosed with 3-types of breast cancer. Just nine months later In 2023, Will was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As Megan continued through surgeries and treatment, Will began his own fight — including cancer surgery, recovery, vocal cord rehabilitation, and ongoing medical complications.That experience changed everything.

It showed the emotional, financial, and physical toll cancer can place on a family. It also showed how many people are left trying to navigate fear, uncertainty, medical delays, insurance barriers, and limited support while still trying to keep life moving forward. Thankfully we are in a good spot and could manage the time away from our work, but not everyone can do that.

When Will realize the financial strain other families face he wanted to help others.

Rocked On Cancer Foundation was created from that reality.

Why This Mission Exists

Thyroid cancer can be difficult to detect early. Symptoms may be vague, slow-moving, or dismissed until the disease has already created serious medical complications.

Will’s own diagnosis followed years of unresolved health issues, medical frustration, and the need to continue pushing for answers. That experience created a deeper commitment to awareness, advocacy, and helping others feel less alone during their fight.

This mission is not just about cancer awareness. It is about helping people breathe a little easier during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

How Rocked On Became a Platform for Good

After surgery, Will began writing, recording, and podcasting as a form of therapy and vocal rehabilitation. What started as recovery became a sports media platform, a Detroit Lions community, and eventually a way to help others.

Through Rocked On Podcast Network, now DFJ Sports, Rocked On Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Football Journal community, Will saw how sports could bring people together — and how that community could be used for something bigger.

One early test of that mission came when the platform helped promote a GoFundMe for a stranger battling terminal anal carcinoma cancer. The campaign surpassed its goal in 72 hours over $2000.00 was raised.

That moment helped confirm the purpose:Use the platform to help others first.

What Donations May Support

Donations and community support may be used to help fund or support efforts such as:

• Thyroid cancer awareness campaigns
• Support for cancer warriors, survivors, caregivers, and families
• Random acts of help for individuals facing medical or personal hardship
• Targeted GoFundMe campaigns for people in need
• Donations to the Detroit Lions Foundation
• Donations to other charitable organizations or Superfan charitable efforts
• Community outreach connected to tailgates, Detroit Lions games, and public events
• Awareness materials, events, and fundraising-related costs
• Future organizational, compliance, and administrative steps needed to grow the mission responsibly

When product sales, memberships, merchandise, coffee, fan experiences, giveaways, or events are connected to this cause, the charitable amount should be understood as net proceeds after direct costs, including platform fees, processing fees, product costs, shipping, prize costs, merchandise costs, event costs, and related expenses.

Our Long-Term Goal

Our goal is to grow this grassroots cause responsibly, create stronger structure, increase transparency, and build toward formal nonprofit status when the time is right.

As this mission grows, Rocked On Cancer Foundation intends to pursue the proper organizational, registration, tax, and compliance steps needed to operate in a more formal charitable structure. This has been our stated mission from day one.

Until formal tax-exempt status is obtained, contributions are not tax-deductible.
