I've been working on a new Route 66 food and lodging guide for the last 3 years, including plans to get it in print. Due to lack of funding, that project has been on the backburner, and I haven't been able to do much with it. I am trying to raise funds to help cover blog hosting (for updates, and possible photo giveaways), travel expenses (for research), and new camera gear (which is desperately needed to get new photos of different historic locations along Route 66). This guide will help travelers find mom & pop motels, diners, cafes, restaurants, and campgrounds to eat and stay at, on their journey. The last time any such guide was published, was in 2015, by the National Historic Route 66 Association. This project will bring a hugely needed update to that.
