・Parody and complete copying

Oh, I almost forgot another important parody song.

There is also a parody of Yuji Ohno's song.

It is a jazz-like song that is a mixture of "Lupin the Third" and the theme from "Daitokai Series".

Also, the "Shotaro March" that plays during the "Previously on Kare Kano" part is not a parody, but a complete copy of a song.

At the beginning of the first meeting between Otsuki, Anno and myself, Anno asked Otsuki if we could use "Shotaro March" from "Tetsujin 28-go" (an anime version that began airing in 1963).

“Tetsujin 28-go" is a deeply memorable work for me, Shiro Sagisu, because my uncle Masayasu Sagisu (animation producer and director) was involved with it.

When I was a child, he took me to a party to celebrate the end of their work.

Otsuki immediately cleared the permission, so I called the copyist who was in charge of me,Sagisu, at the time and entrusted him with the production work for the song.

For "Shin Godzilla," I completely copied Akira Ifukube's music, but I guess the first song I copied in working with Anno was "Shotaro March".

As I wrote in the liner notes of "Shin Godzilla," if you try to copy a piece of music completely, you will need to copy not only the score, but also the sound and hi-fi.

Therefore, it is very important how to record and mix the score of a perfect copy of the song.

Anno also wants a perfect reproduction.

So I always try my best, thinking that I have to be the agent for that.

There is the music for the prologue scene before the opening, and the flow from there to the "Shotaro March" perfectly grabs the audience's attention.

It draws the viewer into the work.
