I’ve had a lot on my mind this week, which is why my usual blog post for yesterday is currently nonexistent. Consider it a brief demonstration of the chaos behind the scenes. 😂
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to separate my writing/author life from my other professional and personal responsibilities. And after a lot of thought, I’ve decided it’s time to make that separation a little more official.
From here on out, all things author-related will happen under my pen name, Adrienne Loftin.
Now, before you grab your pitchforks and start accusing me of having a split personality, let me remind you that I have never actually denied that possibility.
Writing genuinely puts me into a completely different headspace. It’s almost like someone else takes over my body for a while and decides, “You know what this story needs? More trauma. And probably sex.”
Aside from that weirdly invigorating experience, there’s also the very practical matter that I write some pretty detailed intimate scenes—and other things that are, frankly, probably best kept away from the Google search results attached to my full-time professional life.
I might feel differently if writing were my full-time career.
I might not.
Honestly, I’m figuring this out as I go. Shocking, I know.
What I do know is that this doesn’t mean much is changing for you. I’m still me. The stories are still mine. The chaos is still very much alive and well.
You’ll just be seeing Adrienne Loftin attached to the author side of that chaos from now on.
And who knows? Maybe we’ll discover that Adrienne is actually more consistent than I am.
I wouldn’t hold my breath.
