I Woke Up in Love

Dec 07, 2025

imageThis morning, before the sun even stretched her golden arms across the sky, I opened my eyes and realized something simple… and revolutionary.

I woke up in love.

Not the kind of love that waits for permission.
Not the kind of love that arrives only when someone else affirms my worth.
Not the love I used to chase, negotiate with, or shrink myself to keep.

No—this was the soft, ancient love.
The love that has been humming in my bones since before I had a name.

I woke up in love with my life—this winding, glittering, sometimes ridiculous, often sacred journey I’ve survived, shaped, and sanctified. The messy parts, the magical parts, the parts that broke me open, the parts that rebuilt me… all of it felt tender and beautiful in a way I didn’t expect.

I woke up in love with my gifts, too.
The ones I once questioned.
The ones I downplayed.
The ones I learned from elders, from ancestors, from Spirit, and from the quiet conversations I’ve had with myself in the dark.

These hands… they’ve held grief and healing.
This voice… it has soothed, taught, conjured, demanded truth.
This heart… it has cracked and mended, cracked and mended, each time bigger, softer, wiser.

And most unexpectedly—
I woke up in love with myself.
Flaws and all.
Edges and all.
The shadow and the shine.

The woman I was.
The woman I am.
The woman I’m still becoming.

There’s a sweetness in that realization.
A kind of holy exhale.
A permission slip, written in starlight.

Because waking up in love doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means I remembered who I am. I remembered that my life is a ceremony. Each breath, each choice, each moment of rest or reaching—it's all a prayer whispered to the universe.

And today, the universe whispered back.

So I’m sharing this moment with you, not because everything is magically solved, but because everything is magically aligned. Even the parts I’m still figuring out feel wrapped in grace.

If you needed a sign today… let this be it:
You are allowed to wake up in love with your own existence. You are allowed to adore yourself. You are allowed to be the love you’ve been seeking.

May this day embrace you as gently as it embraced me.

With softness, with sweetness, with soul,
Rhonda
