I have always had a love for comics and all things nerdy but adulting happened and it fell off of my "important things I'd die without list". Now that I've got my priorities straight I'm back and loved getting back into Marvel and (don't tell them) DC. The one thing I noticed though was that there STILL weren't any characters that had evolved very much or had been retconned/rebooted to death. That's when I started looking at Independent Comics.

Starting with Image and IDW, I soon found myself fully invested in these original stories and characters but one thing was missing. Where were the folks that looked like me? Especially if they were telling the stories of characters that look like me! That took me to the world of independently created AND published comics.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS! Rooting for these stories to come to life and to keep cranking out issues brings me fully back to the days of Marvel making new characters damn near every other month.
