Hi,



My name is Bogdan, thanks for visiting my woodworking page. I’m an engineer who retired from public service after 24 years with the MTA building transportation projects in New York City. My love of woodworking started years earlier when my wife bought me a router and I soon set up shop in our one-car garage. Today, I have more time and space to pursue my passion and build related projects around the house. My specific interests include making boxes & cutting boards, cabinet making, Japanese woodworking such as kumiko & yosegi, wood turning, and even milling wood from logs with a chainsaw. Ultimately, I would love to make furniture.

After successfully raising 5 children, my wife and I now spend time with our Frenchy shop dog apprentice, Benzi, and her little sister, Porsche, a 15 year old Pekingese. I will always be grateful to my wife for being so supportive as I pursue this hobby, and for conceding the garage space to me.

In my videos you will see me employ power tools as well as hand tools such as chisels, saws and planes. The techniques I use range from milling dimensional lumber, joinery and laminations, to steam bending, veneering and marquetry. With so many different aspects to woodworking there is an endless well from which to drink, and I am excited to explore the many facets this art form has to offer.

As I put myself out there and share my adopted craft, I hope you find my posts informative or entertaining, even inspiring.
