Inspired by a desire to stretch grant-funding, my (Eric Burkholder) friend and I decided to start Research Roomies. Research Roomies is a simple coordination tool designed to help academics reduce conference travel costs by connecting attendees who wish to share hotel rooms, rental cars, or other expenses.
