I am a chronically ill queer artist and writer of colour. I have several degrees in higher education and have spent most of my life interested and active in social movements against racism, militarism, misogyny and homophobia.
I am a poetry, art, music, and nature lover with special fondness for birds and cats! In this blog, I share art, poetry, analysis, and musings on the world we live in. I am fond of evocative and nuanced poetry, often exploring themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage. My work frequently delves into personal and collective experiences, blending introspective reflection with broader social commentary. My poetry is characterized by its lyrical quality and rich imagery, often drawing on my background and experiences to inform my writing. As a visual artist, my visual work employs vivid imagery and symbolism. This can be seen in the use of colour, form, and texture to convey complex emotions and ideas.
I will share my own musings, poetry and, visual creations as well as those of marginalized communities, as a way of connecting the personal and political, the somatic, and the ethereal, the sacred and the mundane, the banal and the awesome! I hope you will comment and provide your feedback and discussion to make this a relevant and lively space! In the words of Spain’s Antonio Machado, “caminante, no hay camino: se hace camino al andar”/ walker, there is no road, one makes the road by walking”. If you can’t walk, I invite you to crawl, fly and dream with me! Another world is possible with our ears to the ground.
