Below is an excerpt from the Shepherds of the Lost class, Remembering the Call. (Shepherds of the Lost is part of ReadJohnPace.com family of publications.) I wanted to share it with you, and invite you to download the class for free here, as an encouragement to continue exercising your God-given gifts. In light of the revival rain on college campuses, let us be inspired that our labor to date has not been in vain, but a cog in the gear of God's eternal plan!!
"In some form or fashion, we are all called to be a shepherd of the lost. It is God’s will for each of us to be like Jesus: personally, to be conformed to His image; functionally, to be a light to this world, both to be a witness to those in need of a Savior.
"Undoubtedly, being a shepherd of the lost is an initiative inspired by the Holy Spirit. It was given to us during a church-wide prayer meeting, through the spiritual gifts, on July 26, 2010: “I am calling you to be shepherds of the lost—to go after them, to leave the ninety and nine and go after the one!”
"What is now before you are 13 Direct Words from the Holy Spirit, given in chronological order, that established the foundation for the Shepherd of the Lost initiative. Time advances and life is full of change, but a foundation remains firm. Each Direct Word has been affirmed with Scripture, for the Word of God is the only true foundation. Yet, it is always good to return and remember the foundation; it is always profitable to gaze at a memorial and remember."
