À propos Randy Abson
Free font tools for designers and developers
Hi, I'm Randy.
In 2001 I launched FontGuy.com, one of the early font sites. Back then finding a typeface meant scrolling through alphabetical lists and tiny preview images. I've spent 20+ years in software engineering since, and I never stopped caring about type.
FontToolbox is the site I always wanted FontGuy to be. Upload a screenshot and it tells you what the font is. Describe a style in plain words and it finds matches. There are also tools for subsetting, web font fallbacks and 3D text. All of it's free.
It's just me. I build it at night and on weekends, and I pay for the servers myself. Every font identification runs image analysis that costs a little, and a hundred or so people use it every day.
If a tool saved you an hour of squinting at letterforms, a coffee helps keep it running. Thanks for stopping by!
