coding open source GUI for robot vacuums, cloud free
My country is under US sanctions and I'm not able to receive PayPal payments anymore. Like, didn't you know, it appears that it's me who is directly responsible for Ukraine shooting at Donetsk for 8 years or for Russia harshly trying to make them stop now. Yeah, everyone should blame me and punish me for that!
Also... Don't you want to hear a tale about how particularly PayPal have worked that out? One day I tried to make a payment with PayPal as usual, and that suddenly was declined. After googling around I found the NEWS REPORT that PayPal decided to stop all its operations here and that's just it. Remarkably, PayPal haven't even bothered to SEND ME A SIMPLE EMAIL with some words explaining the situation - it just silently banned everything and all. That's how it deals with its many years customer. Now I'm trying to withdraw my money back to my bank account with a ridiculous conversion rate and still not sure it'll ever succeed after all, or PayPal would just grab and keep to itself all the funds you donated to me these years. That is your capitalism.
Update Mar 2022 #2:
After almost 2 weeks of silently blocking all its operations, PayPal finally decided to drop me a letter saying that they don't want me to be their customer anymore, suggested to withdraw my funds (like I didn't figure it out already) and immediately get out of their service. How nice of them!
So, it looks like we've done here.

I've created the Valetudo RE software, which is sort of a modded version of vanilla Valetudo project forked in 2019.
It runs on Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Gen.1 and many Roborock vacuums, most notably S5 and S6 series, and makes them working happily without using foreign clouds.
It's all began on 2019 when I bought my first smart robot vacuum, which was enchained to a Chinese cloud and could be controlled only via the bloated smartphone app, which also cheerfully uploaded a lot of personal data to the aforementioned cloud. And I'm not speaking about its limited functionality: despite of being able to do zoned cleaning it even can't store frequently used zone coordinates, so user has to choose them manually over and over again.
Googling around lead me to Valetudo project, which provided a way to get rid of a cloud connection and control the device locally. It was already much better than the original experience, but it still lacked many useful functions: at that time it was unable to specify virtual walls and forbidden zones, and it even missed the ability to run zoned cleaning on multiple pre-saved zones for a very long time.
To cut a long story short, I've took the code and started to modify that myself. After creating some basic features I personally wanted and changing visuals here and there, it appeared that I actually can also add some stuff requested by other people. And seems their requests could never fit into vanilla Valetudo concept: to keep things clear and simple. My mod with multimap support and telegram bot integrated was definitely not quiet simple, so this way Valetudo RE had appeared. By the way, RE abbreviation meant nothing more than straightforward "rand256's Edition".
A word on fees:
If you pay $3 here, then $0.45 will be taken by paypal as its fee and another $0.15 will go as a partner's commission of this nice site. This results in 20% loss on fees for a single coffee. In comparison, "l0-money" (formerly known as Yandex.money) will take only 2% as a fee. This is how this glorious world works.
