JUIFEN TIPS

  • If you are planning to go overnight in Jiufen, the best option is to go there via Public transport.

  • The easiest and cheapest way is via Bus. Ride the MRT and drop at Zhongxiao Fuxing Station go to Jiufen Bus Station and ride Bus #1062.

  • The travel time is around 1 and a half hours. The fare is 90NTD. Ask to be drop at Jiufen Old Street Station.

  • If going back to Taipei bus is also available. Walk straight upward from 7/11 and you will see a bus stop there.

  • Ride the bus going to Taipei the bus stops at the following Train stations: Banqiao, Wanhua, Songshan, or Nangang.

  • Roaming around Jiufen like waterfalls and Pingxi, you can try their train. But conveniently you can hire a taxi around the place.

  • There are lots of tourists at night since many are doing photo opportunities in front of Ah Mei Tea House.

KAOHSIUNG TIPS

  • When visiting Kaohsiung the best option is to ride the Taiwan High-speed railway train. Travel time from Taipei is around 2 hours. Drop at Zuoying Train Station.

  • You can book tickets via Klook (You can use my voucher code: RAFCARLOSAID) Note to book a roundtrip ticket as seats sell fast!

  • There is a train system in Kaohsiung some of its attractions have nearby train stations. Otherwise, you can rent uBikes and you can use your train cards as payment.

  • Cijin Island - If going here head to Sizihwan Station and walk for about 10 minutes to Gushan Ferry Pier Station. You won’t get lost as signs are available going there. You can also use Train cards as payment.

  • At night, there is a long line for the public ferry, so in any case, leave the island early to avoid it.

  • To have a good photo at the Formosa Blvd Train Station go as early as 6 AM.

  • Visa is accepted as payment in Kaohsiung Train Stations.

TAICHUNG TIPS

  • Use the high-speed train to visit Taichung. Book in advance as seats may be limited.

  • There is luggage storage in the train station but is always full. So plan if you have luggage with you.

  • Attractions are far from each other. A convenient option is to hire a taxi or a group tour.

  • Rainbow Village is closed every Monday.

TAIPEI TIPS

  • If you plan to visit the First Din Tai Fung, it caters to take-out customers.

  • If dining at Ichiran Ramen, the best is to visit at around 11 PM to avoid long queues.

  • 44 South Military is another angle for a Photo opportunity of Taipei 101.
