While creating my blog, short stakes, as my way of providing short content I discovered this concept of buy me a coffee. I wanted to try it out. It's one of those ideas for a business venture, that I wish was mine.
There are so many times when I read content or see people do things and think, I'd love to have a coffee with that person, or just buy them a coffee, or do something a little more to support their work. I don't want to always buy merch, but I'd like something with a bit more meaning. This ticks the boxes for me.
The world has changed, the internet has evolved, long gone are the days of Napster and getting stuff for free. It's about supporting people doing something. I'm keen to explore and try out the different ways mostly as a supporter but as an experiment for some of my more creative activities.
Final thought, once upon a time, I created an app called who buys the coffee. It was for friends, and it was an activity competition, whoever had been the least active had to buy the coffee. I liked it, people used it for a while, it was just an interesting experiment. Buying coffee for someone, is a kind human act and I like the simple of concept of it.
