I'm Samantha Elvy and I came into this world a cripple. I was born with Laurin-Sandrow syndrome and had to have extensive reconstruction surgery and rehabilitation for many years. I was in a wheelchair and on a lot of pain medication. I am now able to walk and although still in physical pain I have weaned myself off of all pharmaceutical medication and do everything I can to keep my body mobile. This year I brought a transit van, kitted it out as a camper and have taken to the road, so I can see the world, share my story and write my book about everything I have overcome. I have faced great adversity in my life and I want to inspire others and show what is possible when you decide to be the hero of your life, rather than the victim.
