The Mind Trick Typoglycemia

The Mind Trick Typoglycemia

Oct 20, 2026

Have you ever noticed you can still read a sentence (or word) even when the middle letters are scrambled? That’s a mind trick and there is a term for it called typoglycemia. As long as the first and last letters are correct, your mind is able to unscramble the rest based on word shape and context. Most everyone can do this, and is processed easier for common words and people who read more fluently.

So next time you see this type of meme (which is viral and floats through social media from time to time) have fun with it.

Much Love, Lynn
