Hey! ๐ I just created a page here. If you'd like to help keep the YouTube channel POV Tours - Portugal in 4K up and running, you can now buy me a coffee or get a monthly / yearly membership! ๐โ
There are many costs associated with running this channel - camera(s), microphones, fuel, editing hardware and software, more fuel...
With your generous support (every little bit helps):
-- I can keep making the content you love to see on YouTube
-- Expand the geographic scope of my videos, to include the whole country
-- Fund equipment upgrades to make the video quality even better, such as a new camera for night / low light footage
Thank you so much! ๐

Hey Miguel, No I've not seen any vids in awhile. But now I can start getting back to normal hopefully here we've had so much storm / damage going on for months on end. I'm getting ready to finally repair last March 2024 damage and wanted to send some funds to a few YT people I follow prior to mass funds going out to repair here. I wanted to send $100 originally, so sending the remainder now. Sorry about that. Looking forward to drone vids! YAY you! Your vids were always great but these should be even more spectacular. Take the best of care there.
Regards,
Rachel (in Missouri USA)
About a month ago I watched a lot of videos on YouTube about storms and tornadoes in the Midwestern region, especially in Missouri. So many people lost their lives in March 2025... ๐ I wasn't aware that the same thing had happened last year. I hope that my videos can help to take your mind off all this destruction, and that life will soon return to normal.Once again, thank you so much for helping to keep the channel alive with your support.Take care, stay safe!Miguel

Hi there, my town actually got hit in March 2024 and 2025 exact same day, what are the chances? Insane. Fortunately, my home only got damages 2024, but it's time consuming getting work done, funding, insurance, etc. Plus there are shortages in product. It is like nonstop every few weeks, we are on repeat mode. This weekend getting set for four more days of bad weather, hoping it goes in another direction for sure and sadly just as well for those in its path. Thank you for your kind words. Best wishes in Portugal. I know you all don't want more foreignors there but I sure wish I was there instead! Take good care and stay safe in your travels making videos for us out in cyber land. I am working to get caught up still and look forward to doing so. Thank you as well.
On the same day in 2024 and 2025?? That's crazy! ๐จI hope that the next few days of bad weather don't bring any more negative consequences for you and your town. ๐Despite the increasing backlash in Europe against tourists, on one side of the political spectrum, and immigrants on the other, in Portugal you would be welcomed with open arms. ๐Political extremism is of little relevance here, the moderate parties of the center continue to have a large majority. This means that foreigners in general, and Americans in particular, are very well received in Portugal, despite the increased friction between Europe and the United States in recent weeks. I have 2 American friends here in Lisbon (from Chicago and San Diego respectively). What the Portuguese are increasingly against are people who have totally different cultures and values, and who do nothing to integrate into the country. For example, people arriving from countries where female genital mutilation is common practice, it's preferable that they don't come...Thank you Rachel, and please stay safe!Miguel

Thank you and very good to know Americans would be fine to come and integrate. I'd love to live in Madeira! I dream everyday. I figured if not Portugal then maybe Italy. Best wishes to you. (Chicago is 5 hours North of me and my niece lives in Orange County California!)

Hi-I've got to get caught up on your vids! I cannot recall how I sent funds quite some time ago but thought I was able to do more. Oh well hopefully this helps a bit for now. Take care there and I hope to see Portugal and maybe live there or Italy or somewhere beautiful one day!!! Best wishes for now. Take good care there.

Hi Rachel! ๐ How are you? I haven't seen you comments in the videos in a while. ๐ Thank you so much for supporting the channel! ๐งกI recently bought a drone, in case you haven't seen any of my videos since the beginning of March. With the drone footage, the videos are much better now (in my humble opinion).I hope you manage to fulfill your wish of living in Portugal one day (but Italy is nice too ๐).Best wishes, take care!Miguel (in sunny Lisbon)

Big congratulations on your 50,000 subscribers! We are delighted for you! We have been watching your videos since 2021/22. Every week we look forward to what's next! We especially like the historical information you provide in your presentations. We can tell you're having fun with your new drone. The aerials are nice and have a purpose, but we much prefer your walking tours. The sound of your footsteps, the up close views and background noises are what make your videos so special and distinct.
There are two questions I've wanted to ask you for a long time. You have done several videos of very rural and remote villages. I always wonder what the inhabitants do for a living and how do they get the provisions they need? I also wonder what your full time job is! I was so impressed when you announced this on your channel not too long ago. I can't imagine how you manage a full time job AND all of your wonderful videos!
I'm taking a class in European Portuguese in hopes of communicating better with the locals on our next trip to your beautiful country! It's not an easy language to learn.
We wish you joyful, safe journeys and much success in your future!
Sincerely,
Carol and Ed
Hello Carol and Ed! ๐ Thank you so much for supporting the channel! ๐ค๐งกThis week's video (which will be published in just 10 minutes) includes a lot of drone footage too (for a good reason, as you'll see), but next week the traditional walking tours in picturesque towns will return. It's interesting that you mention the sound of my footsteps as something positive, as that used to be a common complaint in the comments section. ๐ Today's video includes walking on snow, so the sound will be more interesting, I think.I love history and that's what I wanted to do in college, but I changed my major when I realized that the only career path would be to become a teacher (no, thank you!). So I chose something rational: accounting. This channel is a return to my passion for history, for the picturesque places of Portugal, for the stories of places lost in time. Maintaining the channel and working full-time is VERY complicated. It has been somewhat possible so far, but I have to cut back on other things, like going out with friends, and other hobbies and interests, such as hiking, another big passion of mine.European Portuguese is not easy at all. My advice would be to focus on learning vocabulary, full sentences, instead of trying to understand why verbs are the way they are, the crazy grammar rules, etc.Kind regards,Miguel ๐

Linda, NZ bought 2 coffees.
Hi Miguel - its been a year since saw you. How the months have flown. Hope you are doing well and this year is being kind to you.
Olรก Linda and Robert! Thank you for the coffee! ๐คIt's been a year already??! ๐ณ I'm doing well, doing my best not to watch any news these days, the world is getting crazier and more dangerous by the day.I have so many travel plans in Portugal, I hope I can make some of them come true soon. One of them as early as next week, but only if the weather cooperates (i.e. I need snow ๐).I hope everything is going well with you!
