About Postdated Newswoom

citizen journalist, bringing you around the clock news

Postdated was founded by Penelope Rose in 2023 originally as a poetry blog titled DearPennyPenny for the inspirational people she met at that stage of her life. Encouraged by members of the Princeton Writing Group, Penelope began writing about her life experiences. Over time with 50k page views daily on the blog, Penny decided to expand and begin the formation of the Penny Minus publication. As the publication grew, people expected news about politics, world events.

With time and growth, the publications’ reach became more than just one person. Based on working-class values with the understanding that at times due to classism and access to education, hurdles have been experienced and the content may have fallen short. The working-class collective has consisted of people from every socioeconomic and demographic background. Humans have evolved to have beliefs and intuition along with a sense of stewardship of community.

Postdated was born. A collective of writers documenting and telling the story of life as we have experienced it in society. Historians and archivists have enabled the forefront of journalism to be accurate and truthful. The working class has funded it.

Life is a major focal point for Postdated, encouraging writers to share about their lived experience and the journey around overcoming everyday battles and navigating topics without the taboos of bias. Our writers aim to destigmatize harm, housing insecurity, substance dependence, educational availability, and chains of a ruling class exploiting the workers who make industry and community thrive.
