Welcome to Portobello Acting Studio—a dynamic monthly workshop and growing theatre community based in West and South West London. We’re here to support actors at every level, offering a hands-on, collaborative space to develop skills, connect with creatives, and perform original material for both stage and screen.

Whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out, our mission is simple: to make acting training accessible, inclusive, and empowering.

🎤 Guided Warm-Ups

Led by RADA-trained actor and director Akash Prasad, our sessions begin with targeted vocal and physical warm-ups focused on breathwork, diction, and articulation—essential tools to prepare you for powerful performance.

🎭 Scene Performances & Feedback

✔ Prepare and perform scenes with peers

✔ Get your scene filmed for self-review or professional use

✔ Receive thoughtful, in-depth feedback from Akash, as well as fellow actors, writers, and directors

🎬 Theatre Workshops & Live Performances

We regularly collaborate with writers from the Portobello Writer’s Room to rehearse and perform new scenes. This is a great opportunity to bring fresh writing to life and explore different genres, characters, and styles.

💬 Why We’re Different

We believe that training shouldn’t be a privilege. Acting classes are often expensive and inaccessible—but we’re working to change that.

That’s why our sessions are free and open to all. We do, however, welcome contributions to help cover venue costs and support the growth of our community. Every donation—no matter the amount—helps us provide more opportunities, resources, and future showcases for emerging talent.
