Most LoRa hardware is used for sensor communication (and it works great for this)... BUT --
How might it be of interest to those interested in a Tech Human Rights/Privacy/Linux/OpenSource?

These devices can be used as a decentralized method of communication (short text messages: no ISP, no cellular provider bill needed!) able to send messages up to 20 miles away between devices.

Furthermore, connecting devices into multiple networks creates a larger 'mesh', together enables further relay messaging (See: Meshtastic, TheThingsNetwork).

Decentralized communication empowers you away from complete reliance/trust on central parties.

It is always nice to have options. More on this in future posts/videos. For now, we have an image available here in this post, for anyone who wants it.

SUGGESTED NEXT STEPS:
Get started following this wonderfully done guide by @MisterTechBlog (guide uses this very Pinedio image) - making process a breeze
(guide by Lup Yuen Lee: sponsor options button found on his github).

Shows each step needed to connect gateway to TheThingsNetwork (TTN) with full page pictures! Check out his other work there. Many great IoT/(ex: Pinephone LoRa) repositories on his Github.

Thanks for reading and following/watching.
