About Plymouth Sensors Project
Building a real time open sensor network for Plymouth
The Plymouth Sensors project is building out a city-wide LoRaWAN network and helping organisations connect sensors to it and publish it as open data.
We have built a platform to process and hold the data, install and maintain gateways, help buy sensors and connect them up, and help community groups interpret and use the data.
Some of the data currently being captured includes this air quality dashboard covering part of the city centre:
Using the data is free with no accounts or sign ups, and the data is published on the city's open data platform.
Your contribution helps us:
- keep the servers running that power the platform
- buy more gateways to improve the LoRaWAN coverage in the city
- buy and deploy more sensors to capture the data
- help and train more community groups to capture and record the data they want.
Plymouth Sensors is a project instigated by The Data Place, a social enterprise based in the city.
