Hello!
It has been a while since the 1.3.3 update. That was nearly two months ago, and usually, I don't spend this much time between updates. My life has had a lot of very significant (and thankfully positive) changes recently, so I appreciate everyone's patience as I work on the site. The main feature for 1.4.0 is a hefty one. I wanted to give a progress update.
The main feature addition for 1.4.0 is the ability for members to upload prerecorded sets and for those sets to play automatically on time. Currently, I just set these up myself, and automating this process is what performers voted for when I asked what to work on next. Originally, I had this broken up into 11 pieces of work, but that has grown to 15. Here is my progress through those:
The good thing is, the second half of these will be simpler to complete than the first half. The unknowns have been discovered and worked out (which is, arguably, the hardest part of software development). The remaining work is well-understood.
In addition, I spent a good amount of time doing some needed restructuring. This takes some forethought, and when I was first trying to tackle the feature and was realizing how involved it would be, I knew the restructure needed to happen first. Since this is a hobby project where I don't look at the code every day, it's imperative I keep it organized so I can follow what's happening in the limited time I am looking at it. I also added an AzuraCast container to the development docker stack, which frees me up to accidentally screw things up horribly with no consequence to the live website.
There's a few other changes I'm going to include in this update, but the above captures the bulk of the work. I hope everyone in the USA is having a good Thanksgiving weekend!
