Hello,
I'm Phil, and I have been documenting art and music in Korea for over 12 years. I've got a YouTube channel full of the stories behind Korea’s creative communities, artists, and cultural spaces.
I've made arts-focused magazines, podcasts, videos, and more, all with the goal of keeping a record of the local scene around me. I've also spent many years building community through creating and curating music shows, art exhibitions, photo walks, short film contests, open mic poetry events, and the annual audio-visual festival Big Day South.
Eventually, I reached the point of burnout, and everything came to a shuddering halt. Now, I'm focused on telling more of those stories and making new events at a calmer, steadier pace. I share interviews with artists and stories from my first-hand experience of creative communities in Korea on my YouTube channel, and have found a new joy in collaborating with others to make community-focused events that help to bring people together.
Your support helps me continue exploring and sharing these stories, and build towards larger projects.
