Games Bucket List

One week into my next Shipaton app

I’ve been working on my next app for a little over a week now — built for the Shipaton Influencer Award and inspired by a challenge from Mr Lewis Blogs Gaming.

The idea is pretty simple:

Make a gaming backlog that’s actually easy to use.

I often discover games while browsing Reddit, watching a video or reading something online. I think “I should play this someday” — and then completely forget about it.

So the main goal is to make saving a game as frictionless as possible.

A week in, the core flow is already taking shape:

  • Save and organize games in your library

  • Add games directly through the iOS Share Extension

  • Automatically find the game, cover and details from what you shared

  • Move games through different states like backlog, playing and completed

  • Small animations to make progress feel more satisfying

  • Insights into your gaming backlog

  • A carousel-style library that I’m currently experimenting with

The Share Extension is probably my favorite part so far.

Instead of opening the app, searching for a game and manually adding everything, I can share something I’ve just discovered and let the app do most of the work.

There’s still quite a bit to build and polish, but after the first week it already feels like an actual app rather than a prototype.

I’ll use these posts for the bigger milestones and weekly progress updates while I continue sharing the smaller experiments and day-to-day development on X.

Let’s see where this is in another week.
