Making The Most Of Time

Making The Most Of Time

Aug 09, 2020

I've been working a shift based job since April but haven't really tried to integrate writing into that. This coming week I'm going to look at my shifts and see what time I have and then work in what spare time I'm going to have to write. Spare time is the wrong phrase, I'm going to make the time.

I've got editing to do and I'm going to work on a short story that I started today. This one is for an anthology that I think I've got a good story for. This anthology is part of an ongoing anthology series which I've already had one story rejected for! So I'm determined to create a piece that the editor wants to include.

I am also brainstorming another story for this series, but for another anthology in it. Its been a while since I've sat down and brainstormed an idea but I'm looking forward to rediscovering the process.

I do have a rough idea of a formula I'm going to try and put into practice. Something that if I have a few hours to dedicate to it I know how I'm going to work. It's not nothing new, it's simply work for forty five minutes then fifteen minute break and then back to it. That'll work for writing, editing, and outlining.

Something I was trying to do, that worked the times I tried it, is set a target for what I want to achieve each day and what I was working on. So I'm going to try and work that again, with a few tweaks though.

Right, time to start getting this to do list done for the coming week.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and will consider making a contribution. Anything I receive goes straight back into writing and will be used for editing, cover art, and formatting.

Many thanks, have fun everyone!
