Hey, I'm Shea. 👋

I'm an EFL teacher based in Japan with a Master's in TESOL, and I've spent years thinking about how people actually learn languages. Not just in theory, but in the messy, real-life way it actually happens.

I grew up bilingual, so I thought I understood language learning. Turns out acquiring a language as an adult is a completely different experience. These days I’m slowly and stubbornly working my way through Japanese, and that journey shapes everything I write and make.
