Latitude 2.0: Minecraft with a sense of place 🧭

Jul 11, 2026

Latitude started with one simple wish: Minecraft worlds should feel like places, not a shuffled pile of biomes.

The current public builds organize vanilla and supported modded biomes into climate bands, from equatorial jungles and subtropical dry country through temperate forests, subpolar taiga, and polar ice. You choose a globe-style world size, then explore with a customizable compass, latitude and climate readouts, warnings, and HUD Studio.

Latitude 2.0 is the big next chapter I am actively building and testing for Minecraft 26.2: a 2:1 projected-planet world, more coherent continents and connected oceans, shared geography and climate systems, richer hemisphere and polar experiences, and a rebuilt HUD Studio.

This is active development, not a promise that every 2.0 feature is already in the public download. Public releases remain available while the overhaul is tested carefully.

If Latitude makes your next long-term world feel more alive, a tip helps fund the testing, artwork, tools, and porting work behind it. Thank you for exploring with me. 💛
