Reconnecting Communities - Lifting Lives
We are the project developer, leading the proposals to reinstate the Peaks and Dales Line between Manchester and Derby, via Buxton, Chinley, Bakewell and Matlock as the only viable non-road option to deal with the unsustainable and growing traffic problems and poor connectivity between the North West and East Midlands.
We are funded by donations and membership and through various individuals and organisations kindly giving their time on a pro-bono basis.
We have just submitted the feasibility study to the Department for Transport who are reviewing it alongside Network Rail and the Office of Road and Rail - the study has found there are no reasons not to progress to the next stage - the strategic outline business case (SOBC).
We are grateful to everyone who believes this is the right project to act as an integrated transport catalyst for reconnecting communities and managing the known traffic and transport problems.
