This derpy, goofy looking thing is my new Fiendish sidekick and writer familiar, Violet. She's quite shy and is taking a long time to get out of her shell. Still, we're working with her on a few things (potty training be one of them), and getting her to trust us. This morning I was greeted with a wagging tail. Can't explain the joy of that after losing Luna a few weeks ago.
Shadow still isn't sold on his new housemate and they haven't even really met, yet. They eye one another from the foyer, neither making a move toward the other. As scared as Violet is of everything, I'm not sure Shadow has anything to worry about.
Things are slowly settling back into a rhythm, I have the draft of Neptune Scars back from my alpha reader, and I'm getting back to work. I just thought I'd share a glimmer of joy which has been rare this year.
Cheers
