Poems of 2023

These poems were all written in January 2023. The first, Wave, was an attempt to capture in words the images that came to me listening to Sibelius' Oceanides - an evocation of the sea, but also of life. Alwriting was inspired by those feelings that anyone who writes for a living will feel at times. False is dedicated to Jacob Rees Mogg and all the other hypocrites who bleat loudly about their supposed Christian faith while actually worshiping greed and money. Shadows was written after a walk in the Bavarian countryside, and Two Goddesses and a God is an attempt to celebrate the beautiful mountain landscapes of Bavaria, that are coming under increasing threat from global warming.
