An ethnic Ukrainian originally from the Krasnodar territory (Russia), Andrei Paniushkin ( Andrey Panyushkin ), an environmental activist and human rights defender, an independent journalist in Spain, talks about his current life and how he worked and lived in Russia until 2022.

At the end of 2022, for my open anti-war position, supporters of the PMC Wagner burned down the only house of my family.

Our family doesn't have enough funds for an ASAP relocation out of Russia to a safe place.

UPD on 20.04.2023

1. Reopened investigation (by decision of the local prosecutor) - the police do not consider new evidence of arson preparation and do nothing to investigate the arson case.

2. My daughter and wife suffer from severe PTSD and require psychiatric help and medication immediately.

3. After my house fire, my father began to lose weight and felt a sharp deterioration in health. In April 2023, he was diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer of the 4th degree, and his death is predicted within a couple of months.

4. Information about my political position is widely known in the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet, and therefore intimidated employers in Russia cannot afford to hire me for remote work (for fear of consequences for them). Job permit in Spain - still not available for me.

5. One of my neighbours (member of PMC) traveled out of Russia to meet me and "talk".
