We stopped for lunch during a peaceful hike in the Belgrad Forest with Lady, the rescue dog, and her cat friends. All of them were once abandoned strays struggling to survive on the streets. Now, they walk freely among the trees—safe, loved, and healed. As we sat in the clearing, sharing the quiet with rustling leaves and soft paws, it was a reminder of what rescue truly means. Not just shelter or food, but peace, companionship, and freedom.
