The Old Acorn Bird House.

I recently posted a video of a limited palette gouache painting. The subject was an old wooden birdhouse in my backyard. A few people asked if I could post some reference photo's so they could sketch or paint the birdhouse. So here it is and I'd love to see your version.

There are no specific rules or directions for your version. I used a limited palette of Yellow Ochre gouache, Hansa Deep Yellow watercolor, Sepia watercolor, Sepia gouache, Titanium White gouache.

This birdhouse has been hanging from our apple tree and weathering for more than a decade. It has occasionally been occupied by nesting birds, but not for a few years.
