In this episode we travel through Connemara on the west coast and chat to John amongst his Saler cattle herd. We hear about growing up in this beautiful area, about the generation that went before him and about the challenges farming in this area can bring. He also gives us a glimpse into his years spent constructing boats and how he learned his trade and honed his craft.
John has a great regard and knowledge of his livestock and in particular the Saler breed.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend an afternoon traversing the border of counties Galway and Mayo in John's company and chatting to him about his life in the west.
