5 helpful tips for first time traveler to Thailand

Thailand is the home to many travelers dream. It consist of delicious Thai food, amazing sight seeing, beautiful culture, and affordable lifestyle. However, there are a few things to keep in mind in order to make sure your travel experience goes smooth.

1. Know the Thai Currency

If you plan visiting Thailand then it is highly recommended that you get yourself familiar with the Thai currency. Your travel experience in Thailand revolves around money. The temptation from cheap eateries, to shopping, and visiting beautiful attractions. It is crucial to know how much these activities cost and how much you will be spending. 2. Learn Basic Thai Language

Getting yourself familiar with some basic Thai language will help you big time along the way. Thai people would appreciate you for trying to speak their native tongue. 3. Google Map is your friend

Google map is your number one friend when you are in a new country. Whether you are taking taxis, tuk-tuk, Uber or other public transportation google map does it all. 4. Grab Uber Drive

If this is your first time traveling to Thailand then it is highly recommended that you download the “GRAB” app for transportation. This app is Thailand’s version of Uber. It is safe and easy to use. If you know how to use Uber then you will know how to use Grab. It’s super simple to navigate using the same steps as you would for Uber. Grab prices will vary based on peak times of travel and based on the size of the car you want. Where sometimes it can be cheaper to Grab versus taxi. Other times it can cost more. However, if you’re not familiar with Thailand’s public transportation and want to avoid getting scammed by taxis and tuk-tuks then Grab drive will be the safest to use.

5. Choose where & what you want to eat wisely

Thailand is famous for its delicious authentic Thai food. You can dine in at a restaurant, visit night markets, or maybe eat at a random booth right outside your hotel. However, there are still some precautions that you should know before heading out to eat. Finding places to eat doesn’t require much research. Although it does require some common sense to make sure your stay remains smooth. Choose food stalls that seems busy and always analyze how the food is being cooked. Is the food being cooked in a clean location? Is the cook using safe and clean utensils? Does the ingredient look fresh? We highly suggest staying away from food that are placed on display and to only eat food that are cook to order or served hot. This will minimize the chances of food poisoning. One last suggestion is to never drink water that does not come in a bottle. Thailand’s tap water is not considered safe. Always make sure the water you’re drinking is from a water bottle.
