The First Time I Saw You
I remember the first time I saw you. There was nothing extraordinary about that day, until my eyes found yours, and something inside me quietly changed.
My first thought was how familiar you seemed, like someone I had known in another lifetime. I wondered what your voice would sound like saying my name, and why I suddenly wanted you to notice me.
But I was afraid, you know. Afraid of imagining things that weren't there, of giving meaning to an ordinary glance, of opening a heart that had learned to be careful.
And now, when I think of you, I still wonder if you felt something too. If somewhere between that first glance and this moment, you began thinking of me the way I think of you.
