Somewhere Between Fear and Hope
I think I'm falling in love with you, although I'm still afraid to say it out loud. Sometimes I catch myself smiling for no reason, and then I realize you've been on my mind again.
I wonder if you think of me the same way, if your heart beats a little faster when we talk. Or perhaps I'm just imagining everything, turning ordinary moments into something beautiful.
You see, a part of me wants to run toward you, while another whispers that I should be careful. I've known how much it hurts to believe too soon, and I'm frightened of losing something I haven't even found.
But then you smile, and all my doubts grow quiet. For a moment, I forget the reasons to be afraid. And somewhere between my fears and my little hopes, I find myself wishing that this time, love might stay.
