HUGE SUDAN UPDATE

To our dearest BMAC Family, we have some very important organizational updates to share with you shortly which is solely due to your support as YOU have provided the only operational support we’ve ever had. Every legal, accounting, tech fee is covered exclusively by this community and there has been massive evolution we’re clearly eager to share.

For the moment however, we wanted to share two quick updates, both regarding our partnership with Khartoum Aid Kitchen.

As you may know, we try to limit our crowdfunding links for donor trust and also to prioritize direct support for our partners. This is why we have not yet launched a fundraiser for Sudan. Since 2024, our partnership with KAK was exclusively funded by the Kehlani t-shirt. This funded 2 daily kitchens and 2 rounds of the Acute Infant Malnutrition program which provided 3 months of treatment to 865 babies. NONE of these partnerships are active at the moment due to rapid displacement of the population. The best direct impact at this time is to literally deploy a truck of aid to the camps directly. This is costly and KAK did not have the resources to achieve this on their own.

THEN the artist Courn made the “our liberation is all connected” tshirt fundraiser printed by Raw Paw and y’all showed up! If you made an eligible donation during the preorder and responded to our survey giving consent to be emailed by Raw Paw you should already have received the complimentary code to grab your free shirt.

The Sudan portion of the preorder was bolstered with a few thousand from BMAC to afford an entire 15.5 ton truck of aid which was deployed from Northern Sudan to El Obeid last week. This aid has been distributed to the people providing 500 families of 5 (2,500 people) with one MONTH worth of food.

The KAK team sends their regards and we all deeply hope that the community is pleased with this direct impact and helps this pilot initiative repeat as often as possible.

Total costs from OOB’s end were approx 17.3K - which means it cost $7 per person for a MONTH worth of food.

Definitely keep an eye on OOB and KAK socials as they’re translating the videos for this week.

BMAC is the backbone of this org, truly none of OOBs initiatives are possible without you - this one especially so.

We are truly humbled and honored to be in community with you all.

Best,

OOB
