Über Jeremy H Carroll
I'm Jeremy H. Carroll, an independent researcher in Cumming, Georgia, working on the foundations of quantum mechanics from finite, relational models.
My open project, the Theory of Finite Quantum Mechanics, asks a precise question: how much of quantum theory can be built from finite, exact mathematics, and exactly where must extra structure (complex numbers, inner products, continuous time) be assumed? Every result is checked three ways, in Lean 4 proofs, exact Rust certifiers and Python checkers. Every claim carries an audited status, so you can see what is proved, what is conditional and what is still open.
Your support pays for compute and AI research credits to verify more derivations, and for the time to write them up as papers. All of it is public: github.com/dbccpage/theory_of_finite_quantum_mechanics
What's been done so far:
- An 800+-step derivation graph from a single primitive mark to finite quantum mechanics, validated with zero structural failures.
- Kernel-checked Lean results with axiom audits, including a conditional selection of complex numbers from local tomography, a finite threshold theorem for quantum error correction, and a chain from basic rewriting rules to a general-purpose evaluator with undecidable reachability.
- A public self-audit. Claims are marked down when the evidence is thin, and open problems are listed for anyone to tackle.
What support buys:
- About $5 verifies dozens of derivation steps on a cheap model tier.
- About $50 funds a hard proof attempt with a frontier model and my time for hand-checked reviews.
- Larger support buys time to turn results into preprints.
Thank you. Every coffee buys another checked step.
