Hi there!
I'm Melissa, creator of One Light Studio.
I’ve spent most of my adult life as a professional in ministry, developing and creating faith-led programming for children, youth, and families across the Upper Midwest.
After a challenging health diagnosis in 2023, I turned to watercolor art as an outlet, and discovered the healing powers it can have. Now, I’m a self-taught watercolor artist & illustrator, published writer, former dancer and performer, dreamer, and desperate to share my love for The Arts with our world.
My mission is to spread light through the vessel of creative art; especially in the corners of the world where darkness is all too familiar.
I believe that EVERYONE should know the healing powers of artistic expression, and thrive in creative opportunity.
Ultimately, I dream of sharing artistic opportunities with children, youth, families, and communities around the world through building programming, and teaching hands-on workshops in watercolor art, creative writing, dance and movement, and empowering youth to use their voices through speech and expression.
