3D Printing lamps until I'm not depressed anymore

Oct 05, 2026

Hey sorry it's been ages since I posted anything, I've just been trying to get my mind right and I figured while I do that I better record what I'm doing too so I can bring you all along for the journey.

I've always battled with my mental health but recently it's been particularly hard with life dealing me a number of blows from Youtube burnout, to relationships falling apart, to massive tax issues, and of course the relentless hellscape that are the cost of living and housing crises gripping the world right now.

It all can get a bit much and one of the biggest ways I deal with depression and overwhelm head on is to sink my teeth into a creative outlet, in this case - 3D printing.

3D printing is great because with just some rudimentary CAD skills you start to see problems needing solutions just about everywhere you look - and tackling each one head on is a great way to focus your mind and keep you grounded.

This new video is hopefully going to be an enjoyable watch for you, despite the somewhat heavy subject matter, as I really try and just focus in on the joy of 3D printing.

I'm just a one man show here, so when even one pillar of the whole creative pipeline gets too difficult, the whole thing grinds to a halt. Be it presenting, editing, ideation, or taxes and other admin tasks - there's just so many points of failure that I'm very prone to getting trapped in endless production gridlock, as has been the case many times throughout the channels history. Throw depression into the mix and it can completely torpedo all momentum.

So I really can't thank you all enough for your patience and your support, whether its on Patreon, Buymeacoffee, or just watching the videos on Youtube. Without y'all this period would no doubt be 1000x times harder.

I'm entering a new chapter in my life though now, and while there are significant challenges ahead I'm starting to find a new purpose for what I do and why I'm doing it, and I'm really excited to bring you all along for the ride.

In the next video I'm going to be sharing with you a project that's scope is simply so huge and life altering, that it's taken enormous self restraint not to spoil it already. See you then!
